People of Hawaii have been running away as the Kilauea volcano, spilled lava and land fountains of toxic gases are going into the streets. The lava/volcano has already destroyed 26 homes. only a few people were allowed to go back and collect valuable items such as pets and medication during hours where the volcano was not very active. Those visits back were well timed as the night after more lava came out from fissures which are slits and holes in the earth. So far no one has died or been injured by this volcano but it had a strong magnitude of 6.9 it was has been the strongest earthquake since 1975. Most of the activity is happening in Leilani Estates and Lanipuna Gardens areas. Kilauea has one of the most active volcanoes in the world. It has been erupting constantly for 35 years. Most of their eruptions are effusive eruptions they flow continuously but don’t explode.
Understanding- I understand the effects of a volcano on the earth and the people.
Questions- I wonder how many earthquakes/volcano eruptions there have been?
Goal: to connect this prompt to another 100-word challenge.
Then as I walked to school I wondered, why was there nothing in the box it was really heavy. So when school was finished, I rushed home to have another look at that jewelry box before mum comes home. As I looked at the jewelry box again there was nothing in it, until I looked closer at it and found a secret compartment hidden in the jewelry box. It looked really weird it was like a tip from the vacuum, on the back of it said to use at night outside, so that is what I did. I was in the DESERT!!
A drought is where there has been little to no rain for months or sometimes even years. This past couple of years it has been extremely hard for some farmers because they live in Queensland and they are in the sunshine state (as they call it.) 2 boys called Lochy and Angus both live in the farm areas of Queensland and are having it really tough because because it is hard for them to grow seed, veggies, fruit and even grass to feed their animals. Just imagine for us it probably only takes us 5-25 minutes to get to school and for some kids, it take’s 2 hours. Now 90% of Queensland is declared in drought, that’s the most widespread drought in the state they’ve ever recorded. Now the 2 boys are just hoping for rain but they said that they will never give we up the country even if there are droughts.
I understand what droughts can do to some families and how they are really bad for our living.
how is it possible for there to be no rain if Queensland is right next to the ocean?
i was about to leave for school when i saw a box at the door step “when did this arrive?” i said in my head. i picked it up and it was for me. i sat there in my room for a while thinking what to do with it. finally i came up with the conclusion that i will open it then hide it. inside it it was an-dusty jewellery box it was a beautiful box with gems on it. inside the jewellery box was………nothing, then by the time i looked in it i was going to be late for school. so i left.

today I and my friends went to the misty graveyard to pay our respects one of our friends who had paced away by cancer. As we headed to her grave we saw a lot of the colour crimson everywhere (we saw all the colour deep red everywhere)we started to freak out a bit so we started to run them as we ran more and more of that colour started appearing so we started shouting and we run frantically out of the graveyard and we then said ” maybe we should come back when it is morning?” everyone agreed so we left.
